Its been an exciting couple of months at Commbus headquarters preparing for today, it feels like Christmas has certainly come early for us this year!
You may be familiar with the story, but in case your not, I will indulge myself with a little reminiscing……….
Back in the summer, this year friends of ours had asked if our Commbus events team could provide some event support services for their wedding anniversary celebration. We were delighted to be asked and we of course said yes. Our team were to look after the power supply & distribution on site, erecting outdoor lighting including festoon lighting all around the event site and internally the disco set up in the marquee.
Before heading on site we were expecting lavish marquee in a beautiful events field, but as Mark arrived on site he found so much more than a marquee – it was Deckerdence, little did we know at this time what an impact Deckerdence would have on us! (& at this time all I knew that was that the venue was a marquee in a field. Mark told me i would be impressed but that’s it, he wouldn’t tell me any more than that!)
The same weekend we had been at a client’s event at Epsom Derby Ladies Day, we left Surrey and headed back to the Midlands – blissfully unaware that our business and our lives were about to change. We donned our party frock & dapper suit and headed to the location.
It was a lovely summer evening in June and as we approached I could see the entrance to the events site and a structure, a marquee – but this was no ordinary marquee………. This was Deckerdence, Unique Mobile Venue.
A fabulous night was had by all and during the evening Mark introduced me to the owners of Deckerdence, he had been talking with them during the week as the structure was going up and our parts being installed. The then owners were looking to move on new pastures for personal reasons but wanted Deckerdence to continue with a new chapter in all its glory. With our background in events, the connections we have and our business Commbus with our fleet of 10 buses, Deckerdence was the perfect fit for us.
With our Commbus fleet, we have a range of buses and coaches. Including passenger-carrying vintage open top bus (this was actually the bus that Torvill and Dean used for their gold medal parade in Nottingham after winning in the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo in 1984). However most of the buses and coaches in our fleet are pre-converted and are used for a range of exhibition and event uses – but we didnt own anything like bar bus and Deckerdence is so much more than just a bar bus its a Unique mobile Venue.

So skip forward a couple of months, the purchase process complete and here we are today – Deckerdence has arrived!
We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year – see you in 2015
